QinetiQ North America to Present Two Papers at Arctic Technology Conference 2014

QinetiQ North America’s Director of Business Development for maritime and transportation systems, retired U.S. Navy Capt. Dean Richter and consultant, Dr. Greg Mooradian, are scheduled to present two papers at the upcoming Arctic Technology Conference in Houston, Texas.

They are scheduled to present in the following sessions:

    • February 11, 9:25 AM
Spectral Fluorescence/Reflectance Optical Sensor Systems for Arctic Oil Spill Detection and Mapping
      Oil Spill Response, Room 332
    • February 12, 9:50 AM
Arctic Relay Communications, Data Exchange and Enhancement Protocol (ARCDEEP) Through-Ice High Data Rate Optical Communication System
Autonomous Vehicles (air, land and subsea), Room 310

In their first presentation on the paper Spectral Fluorescence/Reflectance Optical Sensor Systems for Arctic Oil Spill Detection and Mapping, Richter and Mooradian will explore the need for a method to rapidly and reliably detect, characterize and geospatially map oil spills in ice-covered Arctic waters. Through their second presentation, on the paper Arctic Relay Communications, Data Exchange and Enhancement Protocol (ARCDEEP) Through-Ice High Data Rate Optical Communication System, they will discuss the necessity and challenges of through-ice optical laser communications for the commercial Oil and Gas Industry.
